Our history dates back to 1989, when Carlos Claussen founded Claussen & Cía in the city of Antofagasta, in order to meet the demand for specialized legal advice from the mining industry in the region. With 35 years of experience, the firm was one of the most recognized in the north for its focus on Mining Law and its experience in litigation.

For his part, in the 1990s, lawyer Felipe Velasco had formed the company Estudio Velasco S.A. in Santiago, specialized in legal advice for business development in commercial, corporate and tax areas in different areas, including mining.

Both firms merged in 2017, giving rise to Claussen & Velasco, a firm that enhances the experience acquired in mining, environmental and water matters, as well as in litigation, Corporate, Commercial and Regulatory Law, together with the recognized track record of its partners Carlos Claussen and Felipe Velasco.
